WORKING DRAFT 2007 STATE OF WYOMING 07LSO-0618 HOUSE BILL NO. HB0268 Juvenile citations-notification by law enforcement. Sponsored by: Representative(s) Landon, Diercks and White and Senator(s) Massie and Sessions A BILL for AN ACT relating to juveniles; requiring notification to parents, guardians or custodians when a juvenile is issued a citation as specified; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming : Section 1. W.S. 14 ‑ 6 ‑ 206 by creating a new subsection (c) is amended to read: 14 ‑ 6 ‑ 206. Child in custody; no detention without court order; exceptions; notice to parent or guardian; release. (c) After issuing any citation to a child for a violation of a state or federal law or a municipal ordinance for which incarceration or a fine may be imposed, the law enforcement agency issuing the citation shall take all reasonable and necessary actions to notify the child's parent, guardian or custodian. Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2007. (END) 1 HB0268
