Sponsored by: Representative(s) Diercks A BILL for AN ACT relating to predatory animals; authorizing entry on property to destroy predatory animals as specified ; providing for the filing of an application to eradicate predatory animals; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming : Section 1. W.S. 11 ‑ 6 ‑ 101 and 11 ‑ 6 ‑ 102 are amended to read: 11 ‑ 6 ‑ 101. Permission to eradicate upon refusal of entry by property owner. Whenever predatory animals become a menace to livestock , forage or lands owned or controlled by any resident of Wyoming and the owner or lessee of any real estate in the vicinity where the livestock is ranged or pastured or the forage or lands are located refuses permission to the owner of the livestock, forage or lands, his agents or employees, or employees or agents of the predatory animal district board of the county in which the real estate is located, to enter upon the real estate for the purpose of destroying such predatory animals, entry may be obtained as provided by W.S. 11 ‑ 6 ‑ 102 and 11 ‑ 6 ‑ 103. 11 ‑ 6 ‑ 102. Application to county commissioners; hearing; determination; limitation on use of firearms. The owner of the affected livestock , forage or lands may file a written application with the board of county commissioners of the county where the real estate is located, applying for permission to eradicate predatory animals. If, after giving the owner or lessee an opportunity of a hearing, the county commissioners may grant such permission, but the person receiving the permission shall not use firearms in destroying such animals without first obtaining permission from the owner or lessee of the real estate. Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2007. (END) 1 HB0311
