and cultural resources committee and the joint appropriations committee by
October 1, 2008, 2009 and 2010.

FIFTY-NINTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING
2007 GENERAL SESSION

AN ACT relating to state parks and cultural resources; providing for historic site interpretation; authorizing positions; providing appropriations; requiring reports; and providing for an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Section 1.

(a)

Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000.00) is appropriated from the budget reserve account to the department of state parks and cultural resources for the period beginning July 1, 2007 and ending June 30, 2008 for the following purposes:

(i)

For the construction of exhibits to display artifacts, photographs and maps, the creation of kiosks and signs and the distribution of printed materials to aid in the interpretation of Wyoming's human and natural histories at the parks and historic sites under the management of the department;

(ii)

For the purchase of equipment, computers, web cameras and other technologies and the development of audio and video presentations to enhance educational opportunities and promote a better understanding of Wyoming's natural and historical legacies for visitors at the parks and historic sites or persons accessing a web site of the parks and historic sites developed by the department;

(iii)

For the restoration and renovation of historic buildings and rooms and their interpretation for the public at the historic sites under the management of the department.

(b)

Any unexpended funds appropriated under subsection (a) of this section shall not revert to the budget reserve account on June 30, 2008, but shall revert as provided by law on June 30, 2010.

Section 2.

By October 1 of 2008, 2009 and 2010, the department of state parks and cultural resources shall submit a report to the joint travel, recreation, wildlife and cultural resources interim committee and the joint appropriations interim committee on the expenditure of funds appropriated in Section 1 of this act.

Section 3.

This act is effective July 1, 2007.
