Sponsored by: Senator(s) Case and Representative(s) Martin and McOmie A BILL for AN ACT relating to the governor's planning council on developmental disabilities; specifying that the public members of the council be apportioned as specified; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1. W.S. 9 ‑ 1 ‑ 217 is amended to read: 9 ‑ 1 ‑ 217. Appointments to federally-required committees; removal; functions, powers and duties of committees. (a) The governor may appoint electors of the state to any advisory, planning or action committee which is required by the state's participation in federally supported programs. The functions, powers and duties of the committees shall not be inconsistent with the constitution or laws of this state. The governor may remove any appointee under this section as provided in W.S. 9-1-202. (b) The governor's planning council on developmental disabilities shall include persons with developmental disabilities or representatives of persons with developmental disabilities in approximate proportion to the respective numbers of such persons receiving developmental disability services from community service providers and from the Wyoming state training school at the time of their appointment. To the extent required, the council shall amend the state plan developed pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 15025(c)(4) to reflect the membership required by this subsection. Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2007. (END) 1 SF0087
