AN ACT relating to public works and contracts; authorizing workforce development training grants for public works apprenticeship programs; providing an appropriation; and providing for an effective date.

Workforce development training fund established.

(b)

Revenues in the
Wyoming
workforce development training fund may be expended for the following:

(v)

To provide training or training grants for the training of persons to be employed as apprentices
on public works contracts for which a bid preference was awarded as provided in W.S. 16

902.

Section 2.

(a)

There is appropriated
from the general fund
to the workforce development training fund established by W.S. 9

‑
2604(a) for the fiscal biennium ending June 30, 2008, one million six hundred thousand dollars ($1,600,000.00) for the training grants authorized by W.S. 9
‑
2
‑
2604(b)(v) and related administrative expenses.

(b)

There is appropriated from the general fund to the workforce development training fund established by W.S. 9
‑
2
‑
2604(a) for the fiscal biennium ending June 30, 2008, two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000.00) to conduct promotion and outreach activities for the training grant program.

Section 3.

This act is effective July 1, 2007.
