Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Wyoming
:

Section 1.

Federal grazing permits.

(a)

No state agency shall hold a federal grazing permit, except an institution of higher learning
may hold a federal grazing permit
when the permit is held for the purpose of research or teaching.

(b)

Except as provided
in
subsection (a) of this section, when a state agency acquires an interest in private lands to which a federal grazing permit is attached, the
state
agency shall
r
elinquish the permit within ninety (90) days
after acquiring the
in

erest
.

(c)

A state agency that
has
relinquishe
d

a federal grazing permit
under

subsection (b
) of this section s
hall not enter into any agreement with the federal agency administering the permit
that
would
:

(
i
)

Direct the future use
of the federal lands to which the permit applies
for grazing by domestic livestock; or

(
ii
)

Grant to the
state agency
any role in the determination of the future use of the
federal
lands for domestic livestock grazing beyond what the
state agency
would otherwise have independent of such agreement.

Section 2.

This act is effective July 1, 2008.
