AN ACT relating to the Wyoming Long Term Care Choices Act; authorizing a statewide network of aging and disability resource centers as specified; granting rulemaking authority; authorizing amendments to the state Medicaid plan; providing an appropriation; and providing for an effective date.

Aging and disability resource centers.

(a)

The department is authorized, using competitive grants and contracts, to fund a statewide network of aging and disability resource centers.

(b)

The purpose of each center shall be to create a single, coordinated system of information and access for all persons seeking long term support. Each center shall assist eligible persons in making informed decisions about health care access and long term care service and support options and shall serve as a referral agency to the long term care support system. Centers shall provide information and assistance to individuals needing either public or private resources, professionals seeking assistance on behalf of their clients, and individuals planning for their future long term care needs.

(c)

The department may amend the state plan for medical assistance and services developed pursuant to W.S. 42

104(a)(ii) to provide for the aging and disability resource center network.

(d)

The department is authorized to adopt rules and regulations to implement this section.

Section 2.

There is appropriated one million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000.00)
, or as much thereof as is necessary, from the general fund to the department of health for the fiscal biennium beginning July 1, 2008 to implement the purposes of this act.
