Excused absences for student election judges.

(a)

An election judge who is a student of a public school shall be excused from school on election day and those days necessary for training school under W.S. 22

113.

(b)

The county clerk shall provide notification no later than seven (7) days before the student election judges first necessary absences to each school district superintendent in the county stating:

(i)

The name of each student in the district serving as election judges;

(ii)

The school the student attends; and

(iii)

The dates for which the student is excused under subsection (a) of this section.

Judges work schedule.

At the discretion of the county clerk, election judges may be allowed to work at the polling premise on election day for a period of time less than the total amount of time the polls are open provided the polling station has a sufficient number of election judges on duty at all times to comply with the requirements of this title. An election judge shall not leave his polling station during his work shift.

This act is effective immediately upon completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become a law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming Constitution.
