Sponsored by: Joint Transportation, Highways and Military Affairs Interim Committee A BILL for AN ACT relating to driver services; increasing driver's licenses fees and other driver services fees as specified; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming : Section 1. W.S. 31 ‑ 7 ‑ 105(d)(ii) and (iii), 31 ‑ 7 ‑ 113(a)(i) through (ix), (d) and (e) and 31 ‑ 8 ‑ 104 are amended to read: 31 ‑ 7 ‑ 105. Administrative hearings. (d) Before suspending, revoking, canceling or denying the license or driving privilege of any person under this act or disqualifying a person from driving a commercial motor vehicle pursuant to W.S. 31 ‑ 7 ‑ 305 and 31 ‑ 7 ‑ 307, the department shall immediately advise the licensee in writing: (ii) If the request for hearing is only to receive limited driving privileges, that the request shall be for a record review conducted by the department. The request for a record review under this paragraph shall be accompanied by a fee of fifteen dollars ($15.00) thirty dollars ($30.00) ; (iii) If the request for hearing is for any purpose other than specified under paragraph (d)(ii) of this section, that the request shall be for a hearing before a hearing examiner within the office of administrative hearings. The request for a hearing before the office of administrative hearings under this paragraph shall be accompanied by a fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) forty-five dollars ($45.00) . 31 ‑ 7 ‑ 113. Fees. (a) The following fees are imposed: (i) Driver's license ............... $20.00 $40.00 (ii) Instruction permit ........... $20.00 $40.00 (iii) Restricted license under W.S. 31 ‑ 7 ‑ 117(c) ...................................................................... $10.00 $20.00 (iv) Duplicate or renewal ......... $15.00 $30.00 (v) Extension or renewal .......... $15.00 $30.00 (vi) Commercial driver's license . $25.00 $45.00 (vii) Commercial driver instruction permit ................................................................ $20.00 $45.00 (viii) Commercial license renewal or duplicate ................................................................ $20.00 $40.00 (ix) Commercial driver's license skills test conducted by the department ................ $40.00 $75.00 (d) If a driver's license with limited driving privileges is granted pursuant to W.S. 31 ‑ 7 ‑ 105(f), the fee shall be twenty-five dollars ($25.00) forty-five dollars ($45.00) . (e) Notwithstanding W.S. 31 ‑ 7 ‑ 131(c), if a driver's license is reinstated after a period of suspension or revocation, the fee for the reinstatement shall be fifty dollars ($50.00) ninety dollars ($90.00) unless the final decision by the hearing examiner, or a court reverses the action taken by the department. If a driver's license is reinstated after suspension for nonpayment of child support pursuant to W.S. 20 ‑ 6 ‑ 111 or 20 ‑ 6 ‑ 112, the fee for reinstatement shall be not more than five dollars ($5.00). 31 ‑ 8 ‑ 104. Fees. Every applicant for an identification card shall pay ten dollars ($10.00) twenty dollars ($20.00) to the department. The state treasurer shall credit identification card fees to the highway fund. Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2008. (END) 1 HB0063
