Emergency
fire suppression account.

Subject:
County assessments for the emergency fire
suppression account.

Summary/Major Elements:

Under current law there is an
emergency fire suppression account consisting of state appropriations and
assessments paid by counties. The account is used to suppress fires in
counties participating in the account.

Under current law the
assessments are not charged once the balance in the account exceeds five
million dollars ($5,000,000.00) on July 1 in any year, until the balance in the
account falls below four million dollars ($4,000,000.00).

This bill removes that
limitation on assessments.
