WORKING DRAFT 2008 STATE OF WYOMING 08LSO-0348 HOUSE BILL NO. HB0114 Community colleges-tuition rates. Sponsored by: Representative(s) Zwonitzer, Dv. and Senator(s) Landen A BILL for AN ACT relating to community colleges; establishing separate tuition rate levels for nonresident students as specified; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming : Section 1. W.S. 21 ‑ 18 ‑ 202(a)( i i) and 21 ‑ 18 ‑ 303(a)(viii) are amended to read: 21 ‑ 18 ‑ 202. Powers and duties of the commission. (a) The commission shall perform the following general functions: (ii) Establish tuition rates for the community colleges ; subject to the following: (A) Tuition for a student who is not a resident of Wyoming shall be established at a rate at least three hundred thirty percent (330%) greater than the rate set for a resident student, except as may be provided by reciprocal agreement with a college or other post secondary education institution located out-of-state; (B) Tuition for a student who is not a resident of the community college district of the college of attendance shall be established at a rate at least thirty percent (30%) greater than the rate set for a student resident of the community college district. 21 ‑ 18 ‑ 303. District board generally; powers; board approved additional mill levy. (a) The community college district board may: (viii) Subject to W.S. 21 ‑ 18 ‑ 202(a)(ii), c harge and collect fees and tuition; Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2008. (END) 1 HB0114
