WORKING DRAFT 2008 STATE OF WYOMING 08LSO-0331 HOUSE BILL NO. HB0164 Large vehicle speed limits. Sponsored by: Representative(s) Harshman, Blake, Brown, Craft, Martin and Petersen and Senator(s) Job and Massie A BILL for AN ACT relating to motor vehicles; establishing a separate speed limit for large vehicles as specified; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming : Section 1. W.S. 31 ‑ 5 ‑ 301(b)(iii)(intro) is amended to read: 31 ‑ 5 ‑ 301. Maximum speed limits. (b) Except when a special hazard exists that requires lower speed for compliance with subsection (a) of this section, the limits specified in this subsection or established as otherwise authorized shall be maximum lawful speeds and no person shall drive a vehicle on a highway at a speed in excess of maximum limits: (iii) On interstate highways, s eventy ‑ five (75) miles per hour on interstate highways for vehicles with an empty weight of less than twenty-six thousand (26,000) pounds and sixty-five (65) miles per hour for vehicles with an empty weight of twenty-six thousand (26,000) pounds or more . Nothing in this paragraph shall be construed to: Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2008. (END) 1 HB0164
