Aggravated assault and battery; penalty.

(b)

Except as otherwise provided in this subsection, a
ggravated assault and battery is a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than ten (10) years.
Aggravated assault and battery under paragraph (a)(i) of this section is a felony puni
shable by imprisonment for
not more than twenty (20) years.

Section 2.

This act is effective July 1, 2008.
