Sponsored by: Representative(s) Buchanan and Semlek and Senator(s) Massie A BILL for AN ACT relating to explosives; permitting the storage of smokeless propellants in residences in limited quantities; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming : Section 1. W.S. 35 ‑ 10 ‑ 301 is amended to read: 35 ‑ 10 ‑ 301. General regulations. (a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, i t shall be unlawful for any person or company to store any gunpowder or any other explosive material at a less distance than one thousand (1,000) feet from any house or habitation, when more than fifty (50) pounds are stored at the same place; but it shall be unlawful to place or to keep any powder or other explosive material, in any house or building occupied as a residence, or any outbuilding pertaining thereto. (b) Smokeless propellants intended for personal use in quantities not exceeding twenty (20) pounds may be stored in original containers in a house or building occupied as a residence or any outbuilding pertaining thereto. Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2009. (END) 1 HB0027
