Under current law, W.S.
6-2-303(a)(vii) establishes a crime of sexual assault in the second degree for
sex offenses committed by corrections staff against persons under the
supervision by the corrections facility.

This bill:

Establishes the crime of
sexual assault in the third degree if the corrections officer subjects a person
under his supervision to sexual contact without inflicting sexual intrusion and
without causing serious bodily injury to the victim;

o

Provides that marriage is not
by itself a defense to a violation of the offense created by this bill;

o

Provides that consent of the
victim is not a defense to a violation of the offense created by this bill.
