Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Wyoming
:

Section 1.

401 by creating a new subsection (c) is amended to read:

6-8-401.

Firearm, weapon and ammunition regulation and prohibition by state.

(c)

Nothing in this article shall be construed to confer
to any of the following entities the

authority to impose any requirement for the registration of firearms owned, purchased, transferred or sold within the state by private individuals
,
and the following entities shall not impose any such requirement
:

(i)

The
governor
;

(ii)

T
he
director of the office of homeland security
;

(i
ii
)

T
he executive heads or governing bodies of the political subdivisions of the state
;

(
i
v)

S
heriffs
;

(v)

C
hiefs of police
;

(vi)

A
ny employee or agent of the state
;
or

(vii)

A
ny
governmental unit within the state
or employee or agent of a
n
y such governmental unit
.

Section 2.

This act is effective July 1, 2009.
