Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of

105 by creating a new subsection (d) is amended to read:

Employment and appointments generally; appointment of chiefs.

(d)

If any member of the fire department is appointed fire chief, he shall remain on the list of eligible persons certified and his classification remains the same at the end of his term as fire chief.

Section 2.

This act is effective July 1, 2009.
