Sponsored by: Representative(s) Simpson, Buchanan, Lubnau and Meyer and Senator(s) Anderson, J., Coe and Larson A Bill for A JOINT RESOLUTION to encourage county officials to take a proactive approach to burgeoning wind energy resource development. WHEREAS, the State of Wyoming has vast wind energy resources; and WHEREAS, those resources are being developed at an ever increasing rate; and WHEREAS, the development of wind energy as a resource has an impact on Wyoming lands and infrastructure; and WHEREAS, individual Wyoming counties are in the best position to evaluate and assess the local impact of wind development; and WHEREAS, W.S. 18 ‑ 5 ‑ 2 01 vests authority in the in dividual counties to respond to issues that arise as a result of developing wind resources. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING : Section 1. That all Wyoming counties are encouraged to act proactively in establish ing or updating land use plans and related regulations that address the impact of wind energy development. Section 2. That the Secretary of State of Wyoming transmit copies of this resolution to each Wyoming board of county commissioners. (END) 1 HJ0009
