Summary/Major Elements:

Under current law, a person
is guilty of aggravated assault and battery if he causes serious bodily injury
to another intentionally, knowingly or recklessly under circumstances
manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life.

This bill adds "an
attempt to cause" serious bodily injury under those same circumstances to
the crime of aggravated assault and battery.

Aggravated assault and battery; penalty.

(a)

A person is guilty of aggravated assault and battery if he:

(i)

Causes
or attempts to cause
serious bodily injury to another intentionally, knowingly or recklessly under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life;

This act is effective immediately upon co
m
pletion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming Constit

tion.
