Currently, the statutes require
that any blasting or shot-firing in mines, including charging and tamping of
holes shall be done by or under the direction of certified shot-firers.

This bill will also require the certification
of trona utility shot-firers who are blasting or preparing shot-firing at any
trona mining operation.

This bill specifies certification
requirements for the trona utility shot-firers and makes conforming amendments.

This bill also requires each mine operator
to submit a trona utility blasting training plan to the Wyoming State Mine
Inspector.

Section 2.

This act is effective July 1, 2009.
