Catch Title:
Health
care-rehabilitation facility.

Subject:
Amends the
definition of health care facility to include residential facilities

Summary/Major Elements:

Current law requires all
health care facilities, including rehabilitation facilities, to be licensed by
the department of health.

Bill amends the definition of
"rehabilitation facility" to include a residential facility which is
operated for the primary purpose of assisting the rehabilitation of disabled
persons.

Also amends the definition to
clarify that persons with acquired brain injury are included in the phrase
"disabled persons".

Comment:

Wyoming
Life Resource Center (formerly Wyoming Training School) is a residential treatment facility which treats persons with acquired
brain injuries. Law requires a rehab facility to be licensed so law was
amended to allow the Center to become licensed.
