Subject: Veterinarian loan repayment program. Summary/Major Elements: Current law requires that in order to be eligible for the veterinary loan repayment program, the veterinarian must have "graduated from an accredited veterinary college". This bill modifies the veterinarian loan repayment program by expanding the eligibility requirements to graduate veterinarians who are licensed to practice in Wyoming.
WORKING DRAFT ORIGINAL HOUSE BILL NO. 0002 ENROLLED ACT NO. 2, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES SIXTIETH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING 2010 BUDGET SESSION AN ACT relating to veterinarians; modifying the veterinarian loan repayment program, modifying eligibil ity requirements ; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming : Section 1. W.S. 11 ‑ 18 ‑ 119(a)(intro) is amended to read: 11 ‑ 18 ‑ 119. Veterinarian loan repayment program; rulemaking authority. (a) The board is authorized to enter into agreements with graduate veterinarians who have graduated from accredited veterinary colleges are licensed to practice in the state of Wyoming, to provide food animal health care in this state. For purposes of this section, "food animal" means cattle, swine, sheep or goats. The agreements shall: Section 2. This act is effective immediately upon co m pletion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming Constit u tion.
