WORKING DRAFT ORIGINAL HOUSE BILL NO. 0034 ENROLLED ACT NO. 40, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES SIXTIETH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING 2010 BUDGET SESSION AN ACT relating to municipal elections; extending deadline for collection of signatures to require a referendum vote on municipal ordinances; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming : Section 1. W.S. 22 ‑ 23 ‑ 1005 is amended to read: 22 ‑ 23 ‑ 1005. Ordinance adopted by governing body subject to referendum vote. An ordinance adopted by a municipal governing body shall be subject to a referendum vote if a petition signed by ten percent (10%) of the qualified electors registered in the city or town is filed with the municipal clerk not later than ten (10) twenty (20) days after the ordinance is first published after adoption as provided by law. The referendum petition shall set forth the ordinance in full and shall contain the signatures and residence addresses of persons signing the petition. Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2010.
