Summary/Major Elements: School district audits conducted by the Department of Audit; Eliminates special provision for school audits of vocational education information and computations every three years, which places this component on the regular auditing schedule for all other model components; Regular audit schedule is to conduct a complete audit of each district once every five years, and to conduct individual component audits statewide which review any component for which district audits identify special data or reporting issues.
WORKING DRAFT ORIGINAL HOUSE BILL NO. 0048 ENROLLED ACT NO. 1, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES SIXTIETH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING 2010 BUDGET SESSION AN ACT relating to school finance audits; modif ying vocational education program periodic audit requirement; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming : Section 1. W.S. 9 ‑ 1 ‑ 513 (b)(ix) is amended to read: 9 ‑ 1 ‑ 513. School finance audits and management studies. (b) The school finance section within the department established under subsection (a) of this section shall: (ix) As a part of the requirements under paragraph (i) of this subsection, conduct periodic audits of vocational education information and computations submitted by districts as necessary for implementation of W.S. 21 ‑ 13 ‑ 309(m)(v)(D) and include audit findings in the report to the department of education required under paragraph (iv) of this subsection and the report to the legislature required under paragraph (viii) of this subsection. Each district shall be audited for purposes of this paragraph not less than once every three (3) years. Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2010.
