Summary/Major Elements:

Provides that for
vacant land within a platted subdivision, upon request of the property owner,
the county assessor shall consider the value of the property through the
present worth appraisal methodology.

Prior to the
enactment of this bill, vacant land was valued as provided under W.S.
39-13-103(b)(ii) by using generally accepted appraisal methods with no
requirement to use any specific appraisal methodology.

Comments:

Applies to property tax assessed on
or after January 1, 2010.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Wyoming
:

103(b) by creating a new paragraph (xvii) is amended to read:

Imposition.

(b)

Basis of tax. The following shall apply:

(xvii)

For the valuation of vacant land
within a platted subdivision development,
the county assessor shall
consider the value of the property through the use of present worth appraisal methodology upon request of the property owner.

Section 2.
This act shall apply to any property tax assessed on or after January 1, 2010.

Section 3.
This act is effective immediately upon co
m
pletion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming Constit

tion.
