WORKING DRAFT 2010 STATE OF WYOMING 10LSO-0354 HOUSE BILL NO. HB0127 Medicaid applications-2. Sponsored by: Representative(s) Wallis A BILL for AN ACT relating to Medicaid; providing that applications for medical assistance be made in person; providing for eligibility interviews; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1. W.S. 42 ‑ 4 ‑ 106(a) is amended to read: 42 ‑ 4 ‑ 106. Application for assistance; determination of eligibility; assignment of benefits; resources and income allowances defined for institutionalized spouse. (a) Any Wyoming resident may apply for medical assistance under this chapter by filing an application in person with the field office located in the county in which the individual resides. A determination of eligibility for medical assistance shall be based upon the application and an eligibility interview with the applicant . If the applicant is physically unable to apply , a personal representative of the applicant may file the application in person for the applicant . Medical assistance shall be provided on behalf of a qualified applicant with reasonable promptness. Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2010. (END) 1 HB0127
