Coroner cases; public records; disclosure of information.

Subject to the provisions of this section, a
ll documents
regardless of physical form or characteristics
,
m
ade
or received by a coroner or his office in connection with a coroner case,
except those privileged or confidential by law
,
shall be a public record subject to disclosure in accordance with
W.S. 16

‑
201 through 16
‑
4
‑
205.

A
coroner
or his office who has received
but not made
a document in a coroner case may withhold the document from disclosure as provided in W.S. 16
‑
4
‑
203(j)
.
In restricting disclosure of any
other

record subject to this section a
coroner
shall furnish as much information as is not privileged or confidential by law and shall use redaction as necessary to allow the fullest disclosure authorized by law.

(d)

The custodian shall deny the right of inspection of the following records, unless otherwise provided by law:

(i)

Medical, psychological and sociological data on individual persons, exclusive of coroners' autopsy reports
and other coroner records as provided in W.S. 7

(j)

A coroner office receiving a request for inspection of a
document
in a coroner case may deny the right of inspection
if the document was received but not made by the coroner or his office. If inspection of a document is refused pursuant to this subsection the coroner or his office shall provide the requesting party with the
name and title of the person from whom the document was received
.

Section 3.

This act is effective immediately upon co
m
pletion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming Constit
u
tion.
