Sponsored by: Joint Agriculture, State and Public Lands and Water Resources Interim Committee A BILL for AN ACT relating to animals running at large; expanding authority of county commissioners to declare livestock and feral livestock a public nuisance; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming : Section 1. W.S. 11 ‑ 31 ‑ 301(a) is amended to read: 11 ‑ 31 ‑ 301. Public nuisance; notice; penalties; rules and regulations; animal control districts and officers. (a) A board of county commissioners may declare : (i) T he running at large of any specified animals , livestock as defined by W.S. 11 ‑ 6 ‑ 302(a)(vi) and feral livestock as defined by W.S. 11 ‑ 48 ‑ 101(a)(iii) and (iv) in unincorporated areas within the county limits a public nuisance . provided: (A) The livestock or feral livestock has been determined to hav e repeatedly breached a legal fe n c e as defined by W.S. 11 ‑ 28 ‑ 102; or (B) The owner has failed to make a reasonable attempt to keep his animal or livestock from running at large. Section 2. This act is effective immediately upon co m pletion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming Constit u tion. (END) 1 HB0058
