Natural gas vehicles.

AN ACT relating to motor vehicles; providing that the department of transportation may construct and operate natural gas stations as specified; providing that the public may utilize department of transportation natural gas stations as specified; providing requirements and regulations for retrofit natural gas vehicles; providing that the department of administration and information may enter into contracts for the construction and operation of natural gas filling stations; providing for the conversion of state vehicles to operate on natural gas as specified; providing rulemaking authority; providing appropriations; and providing for an effective date.

AN ACT relating to motor vehicles; providing that the department of transportation
and the department of administration and information

shall
acquire through retrofit or purchase
vehicles
which
operate on natural gas as specified;
providing
an
appropriation; and providing for an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Wyoming
:

Section 1.

The department of transportation and the department of administration and information, as determined by the director of each agency, shall retrofit
or acquire
vehicles in their fleets
which
operate on natural gas, or a combination of natural gas and another form of fuel, by July 1, 2012. All vehicles retrofitted
or acquired
under this section shall be inspected and certified as safe in accordance with relevant standards, including the National Fire Protection Association 52 Vehicular Gaseous Fuel Systems Code.

Section 2

There is appropriated
two hundred thousand
dollars ($
2
00,000.00) from the general fund to the department of
administration and information for the purposes of this act.

Section 3
.

This act is effective July 1, 2011.
