CHINS-administrative
change of placement.

Subject:
Change of
placement for children found in need of supervision.

Summary/Major Elements:

Under current law the department of family
services is required to obtain a court order for a change in placement of a
child found to be in need of supervision (CHINS).

This act changes the law to allow the department
of family services, without a court order, to change the placement of the child.

The department can move the child to a similar
