Sponsored by: Senator(s) Cooper A BILL for AN ACT relating to insurance coverage; mandating coverage for accident cleanup costs as specified; providing a definition; specifying applicability; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1. W.S. 31 ‑ 9 ‑ 102(a) by creating a new paragraph (x i v) and by renumbering (xiv) as (xv) and 31 ‑ 9 ‑ 405 by creating a new subsection (n) are amended to read: 31 ‑ 9 ‑ 102. Definitions . (a) As used in this act: (x i v) "Injury to or destruction of property of others" includes, but is not limited to, injury caused by the scattering or deposit of debris at a vehicle accident site ; (xiv) (xv) "This act" means W.S. 31 ‑ 9 ‑ 101 through 31 ‑ 9 ‑ 415. 31 ‑ 9 ‑ 405. "Liability policy" defined; required coverage; additional clauses. (n) Any motor vehicle liability policy shall include , as a part of its coverage for injury to or destruction of property of others , coverage for the cleanup costs associated with the scattering or deposit of debris at a vehicle accident site. Section 2 . This act shall apply only to insurance policies, certificates, surety bonds, self-insurance and other forms of financial responsibility permitted under W.S. 31 ‑ 9 ‑ 101 through 31 ‑ 9 ‑ 415 which are delivered, issued, renewed or originated on or after July 1, 2012. Section 3 . This act is effective July 1, 2012. (END) 1 SF0061
