WORKING DRAFT 2012 STATE OF WYOMING 12LSO-0267 SENATE FILE NO. SF0064 Criminal trespass. Sponsored by: Senator(s) Hines A BILL for AN ACT relating to criminal trespass ; specifying wh en knowledge is presumed ; providing a definition; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1. W.S. 6 ‑ 3 ‑ 303 by creating new subsection s (d) and (e) is amended to read: 6 ‑ 3 ‑ 303. Criminal trespass; penalties. ( d ) A person is presumed to know that he is not authorized to enter on the land or premises of another if the person travels off of a public road and directly enters on private rural land without the permission of the owner or person in charge of the land . This subsection does not apply if a person travels directly to a residence or other structure and immediately leaves the land or premises if permission to remain is not grante d . ( e ) As used in this section, "rural land" means land outside the boundaries of a city, town or platted subdivision. Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2012. (END) 1 SF0064
