WORKING DRAFT 2013 STATE OF WYOMING 13LSO-0227 HOUSE BILL NO. HB0022 Serious bodily injury. Sponsored by: Representative(s) Gingery A BILL for AN ACT relating to cr imes and offenses; revising definition s of "serious bodily injury"; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1. W.S. 6 ‑ 1 ‑ 104( a)(x) and 31 ‑ 5 ‑ 233(h) (intro) are amended to read: 6 ‑ 1 ‑ 104. Definitions. (a) As used in this act, unless otherwise defined: (x) "Serious bodily injury" means bodily injury which creates causes serious impairment of physical condition including, without limitation, causing a substantial risk of death or which cause s causing miscarriage, loss of consciousness, concussion, bone fracture, a wound requiring extensive suturing, severe disfigurement or protracted loss or impairment of the function of any bodily member or organ; 31 ‑ 5 ‑ 233. Driving or having control of vehicle while under influence of intoxicating liquor or controlled substances; penalties. (h) As used in this subsection, "serious bodily injury" means bodily injury which creates a reasonable likelihood of death or which causes miscarriage or serious permanent disfigurement or protracted loss or impairment of any bodily member or organ as defined in W.S. 6 ‑ 1 ‑ 104(a)(x) . Whoever causes serious bodily injury to another person resulting from the violation of this section shall be punished upon conviction as follows: Section 2. This act is effective immediately upon completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming Constitution. (END) 1 HB0022
