A BILL

for

AN ACT relating to the Wyoming Pharmacy Act; authorizing pharmacists to administer prescription medications as specified; and providing for an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Section 1.

157 by creating a new subsection (d) is amended to read:

Immunization
and medication
administration.

(d)

A pharmacist licensed under this act may administer medications
which can only be obtained by prescription
, subject to the following:

(
i
)

Patients shall be at least nineteen (19) years old;

(ii)

Administration may be orally, topically,
intranasally
or by injection;

(iii)

Administration shall be pursuant to a prescription from a health care professional authorized by law
to write prescriptions
for the medication being administered;

(iv)

The
board, in cooperation with the state board of medicine, shall adopt rules specifying the medications that pharmacists may administer and any other reasonable limitations on administration of medications by pharmacists.

Section 2.

This act is effective July 1, 2013.
