A BILL

crimes and offenses; creating the crime of assault of a health care provider; providing penalties;
and providing for an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Section 1.

502(b) and by creating a new subsection (c) is amended to read:

6-2-502.

Aggravated assault and battery; penalty

(b)

Except as provided in subsection (c) of this section, a
ggravated assault and battery is a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than ten (10) years.

(c)

Aggravated assault and battery against a health care provider, as defined in W.S. 1

130(b)(i), who is engaged in providing health care services is a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than twelve (12) years, a fine not more than five thousand dollars ($5,000.00), or both.

Section 2.

This act is effective July 1, 2013.
