and providing for an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Section 1.

School zones.

Each district shall ensure that
any

school zone
or other area in the vicinity of a school
requiring reduced speed as provided under W.S. 31
‑

‑
301(
b)(
i
) is marked with an appropriate traffic control device or sign.
For each direction of traffic affected by the
reduced speed
there
shall
be at least one (1) sign or other traffic control
device which indicates the beginning of the
reduced speed zone
and at least one (1) sign or other traffic control device which indicate
s
the end of the
reduced speed zone
.
A traffic control device or sign
marking the beginning of a
reduced speed zone

under this section shall include at lea
st one (1) flashing amber light.

Duty of local authorities to place and maintain.

Except as otherwise provided in this section,
l
ocal authorities in their respective jurisdictions shall place and maintain such traffic
‑
control devices upon highways under their jurisdiction as they deem necessary to indicate and to carry out the provisions of this act or local traffic ordinances or to regulate, warn or guide traffic. All traffic
‑
control devices hereafter erected shall conform to the state manual and specifications.

School districts shall place and maintain signs or other traffic control devices for
reduced speed
zones pursuant to W.S. 21

132.
