Summary/Major Elements:

Under existing law
,
a microbrewery was limited to production of less than 15,000 barrels of malt beverage per year and any amount above that required licensure as a brewery.

This bill increases the maximum production of a microbrewery to less than 50,000 barrels of malt beverage per year, and any amount above that would require licensure as a brewery.

Definitions.

(a)

As used in this title:

(xviii)

"Brewery" means a commercial enterprise at a single location producing
malt beverage in quantities to exceed fifteen thousand (15,000)

fifty thousand (50,000)
barrels per year

"Microbrewery" means a commercial enterprise at a single location producing
malt beverage in quantities not to exceed fifteen thousand (15,000)
