AN ACT relating to public education; requiring consent prior to sharing of personally identifiable student information; requiring reporting; and providing for an effective date.

Privacy in education act; penalty.

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, any personally identifiable student information collected by a school district shall not be disseminated in personally identifiable form except with the written consent of the
adult student or a minor student's parent or legal guardian. This subsection shall not apply to student information collected pursuant to the federal Title
I
of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. All reporting requirements shall be fully disclosed.

The joint education interim committee shall conduct a review of related statutes to ensure no conflicting or
redundant
provisions exist as a result of passage of this act.

The committee shall report
the results of the review
to the legislature prior to the 2016 budget session and shall include any draft legislation necessary to effectuate the recommendations.

act is effective July 1,
