2015 STATE OF WYOMING 15LSO-0554 Numbered 2.1 HOUSE BILL NO. HB0203 Livestock brands-reciprocity. Sponsored by: Representative(s) Northrup and Laursen and Senator(s) Hicks A BILL for AN ACT relating to livestock brands; authorizing recognition of livestock brands registered in neighboring states as specified; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1. W.S. 11 ‑ 20 ‑ 104 and 11 ‑ 20 ‑ 125 by creating a new subsection (d) are amended to read: 11 ‑ 20 ‑ 104. Brands; recording generally. (a) Upon receipt of the application and fee the brand shall be recorded in the state brand record. If the brand has been previously recorded the executive officer of the board shall suggest a brand that can be recorded. The executive officer of the board shall not record any brand which in his opinion would conflict with any brand of record. (b) The board shall , upon application and payment of appropriate fees , recognize and record an out-of-state brand registered or recorded in a s tate contiguous to the state of Wyoming , provided the executive officer of the board finds the brand would not conflict with any brand of record in Wyoming. The owner of a brand qualifying under this subsection shall apply to record the brand with the board in accordance with W.S. 11 ‑ 20 ‑ 103. 11 ‑ 20 ‑ 125. Use of a seasonal brand; application for an annual permit to use an out ‑ of ‑ state brand. (d) The annual permit required under subsection (a) of this section shall not be required for the owner of a brand reco rd ed by the board under W.S. 11 ‑ 20 ‑ 104(b) . Section 2 . This act is effective July 1, 2015 . (END) 1 HB0203
