2015 STATE OF WYOMING 15LSO-0536 Numbered 2.1 HOUSE BILL NO. HB0217 Workplace safety grant program. Sponsored by: Representative(s) Schwartz and Wilson and Senator(s) Peterson A BILL for AN ACT relating to the department of workforce services; amending requirements for participation in the workplace safety contract program as specified; amending a reporting requirement; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1 . W.S. 9 ‑ 2 ‑ 2608(c)(ii), (d)(iii) and by creating new paragraphs (v) and (vi) is amended to read: 9 ‑ 2 ‑ 2608 . Workplace safety contract program. (c) The department shall promulgate rules and regulations for administration of the contract program provided in this section. Contracts under this section shall be conditioned on the following: (ii) An in ‑ cash cost sharing contribution from the employer of at least ten percent (10%) from the employer of the grant or an amount equal to any fine or penalty assessed within the last twenty ‑ four (24) months related to the safety purpose of the grant, whichever is greater ; (d) The department shall report on contracts issued under this section to the joint minerals, business and economic development interim committee on or before October 1, 2013 and by October 1 annually thereafter. Reports submitted under this subsection shall include, but not be limited to, information for the time period since the submittal of the last report, including: (iii) Number of employees covered under workplace safety programs created or enhanced under this section; and (v) The number of citations issued to an employer since the grant under the section was initially made; (vi) The most recent five (5) years of safety compliance history, including citations and penalties, for all employers receiving safety grants under this section. Section 2 . This act is effective immediately upon completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming Constitution. (END) 1 HB0217
