A BILL

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Predator ownership prohibited; penalty.

No person shall
knowingly
own or possess a living predator unless the person has obtained a permit from the director
of the department of agriculture giving approval to own the predator.
The director shall not issue a permit under this
section if the director determines that ownership of the predator presents any threat to public health or safety.
Any person failing to comply with this section shall be punished as provided in W.S. 11

The department of agriculture shall adopt rules and regulations necessary to implement this section.
As used in this section,
"
predator

means a predatory animal as defined in W.S. 23

Penalty for violations.

A person who violates any of the following sections commits a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, a fine of not more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00), or both for the first offense, or by imprisonment for not more than one (1) year, a fine of not more than one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00), or both for second or subsequent offenses: W.S.
