A BILL

for

AN ACT relating to minimum wages; providing for specified annual increases in the minimum wage; providing for an annual inflation adjustment in the minimum wage following the specified annual increases; and providing for an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Minimum wage rates.

(a)

Every employer shall pay to each
of his or her employees
employee

wages at
a rate of not less than five
dollars and fifteen cents ($5.15) per hour.

the following rates:

(i)

After June 30, 2015 and before July 1, 2016, not less than seven dollars and seventy
‑
five cents ($7.75) per hour;

(ii)

After June 30, 2016 and before July 1, 2017, not less than eight dollars and fifty cents ($8.50) per hour;

(iii)

After June 30, 2017 and before July 1, 2018, not less than nine dollars and twent
y
‑
five cents ($9.25) per hour;

(iv)

After June 30, 2018 and before July 1, 2019, not less than ten dollars ($10.00) per hour;

(v)

On
or before
April 30, 2019, and on
or before
April 30 each year thereafter, the department of workforce services shall calculate a
revised
minimum wage rate by
adjusting
the current year's minimum wage rate
using the Wyoming cost
‑
of
‑
living index, published by the
economic analysis division of the department of administration and information, for the previous calendar year.
The
revised
minimum wage rate shall be
rounded
to the nearest five cents ($.05)
and
shall
apply to all wages earned after the
following
June 30
.
