A BILL

for

AN ACT relating to game and fish; prohibiting law enforcement from assisting the federal government in investigating, arresting and prosecuting persons taking or injuring gray wolves or grizzly bears as specified; providing exceptions; and providing for an effective date.

(a)

o
game
and fish personnel
or Wyoming law enforcement officer
shall assist any official, agent or employee of the United States government in the investigation, arrest or prosecution of any person
who takes or causes injury of a gray wolf or grizzly bear in the state
, if the animal is a species listed
as experimental nonessential population, endangered species or threatened species
in the state
.

(b)

Nothing in this section shall prohibit
game
and fish personnel
or Wyoming law enforcement officer
s
from
:

(i)

Enforcing
or complying with any provision of federal or state law
other than those identified in subsection (a) of this section
;

(ii)

Responding to civil process;

(iii)

Taking any action to facilitate the delisting of the gray wolf or grizzly bear
under the

;

(iv)

Working

with
any official, agent or employee of the United States government
in
an effort to

reduc
e
the number of gray wolves or grizzly bears in any area in the state.

act is effective
immediately upon completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming Constitution
