Subject: Abandoned gift certificates, merchant stor ed value cards and credit memos Summary/Major Elements: Under the Uniform Unclaimed Property Act, gift certificates, merchant stored value cards and credit memos may be deemed abandoned under certain circumstances. The current statutory provisions governing the abandonment of gift certificates, merchant store value cards and credit memos are repealed effective July 1, 2019. This act removes that scheduled repeal date , effective July 1, 2016 . ORIGINAL House Bill No . HB0095 ENROLLED ACT NO. 42, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES SIXTY-THIRD LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING 2016 Budget Session AN ACT relating to unclaimed property; removing the scheduled repeal date on provisions related to the abandonment of gift certificates, merchant store value cards and credit memos; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1 . W.S. 34 ‑ 24 ‑ 114( f) is repealed. Section 2 . This act is effective July 1, 201 6 .
