A JOINT RESOLUTION

for

A JOINT RESOLUTION proposing to amend the Wyoming Constitution by specifying term limits for specified state elected offices.

BE
IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING,
two-thirds of all the members of the two houses, voting separately, concurring therein:

Section 1.
The following proposal to amend Wyoming Constitution, Article
6
,
Section

15

is proposed for submission to the electors of the State of Wyoming at the next general election for approval or rejection to become valid as a part of the Constitution if ratified by a majority of the electors at the election:

Article 6, Section 15.

Qualifications for office.

(a)

No person except a qualified elector shall be elected or appointed to any civil or military office in the state. "Military office" shall be limited to the offices of adjutant general, assistant adjutant general for the army national guard and assistant adjutant general for the air national guard.

(b)

In addition to any qualifications for office under this constitution, no person shall be elected or appointed to
serve for
more than
two (2) consecutive terms
in any one (1) state
office
. "State
office" shall include
state legislators, the governor,
the secretary of state,
the
state auditor,
the
state treasurer and the superintendent of public instruction
.
This subsection shall not apply to any term or portion of a term served in a state office prior to January 1, 2016.

Section 2.
That the Secretary of State shall endorse the following statement on the proposed amendment:

The
adoption of this amendment
would provide a term limit
of not more than
two (2) consecutive terms in the same office for
state senators and representatives
, the governor,

the
secretary of state,
the state
auditor,
the state treasurer
and
the
super
intendent of public instruction
.
