Sponsored by: Senator(s) Kinskey and Representative(s) Madden A BILL for AN ACT relating to liens; amending definitions as specified to include real estate appraisers as proper claimants for a construction lien; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1 . W.S. 29 ‑ 1 ‑ 201 (a) (i)(A) (II), (III), by creating a new subdivision ( IV) , (iii)(B), (C) and by creating a new subparagraph (D) is amended to read: 29 ‑ 1 ‑ 201 . Definitions; agency relationships presumed. (a) Except as otherwise provided, as used in this act: (i) "Contractor" means: (A) A person employed by and contracting with an owner to improve an owner's property including: (II) A professional engineer; and (III) A surveyor ; . and (IV) A real estate appraiser. (iii) "Improve or improvement" means: (B) Any work performed or material furnished for the permanent change of any real property; and (C) Materials manufactured pursuant to contract ; . a nd (D) Any appraisal work performed upon any real property by an appraiser . Section 2 . This act is effective July 1, 201 6 . (END) 1 SF0027
