A BILL

for

AN ACT relating to higher education; providing for reduced tuition for nonresident students as specified; and providing for an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Tuition to be as nearly free as possible; number, qualifications and selection of students for reduced tuition; tuition for veterans, their spouses and children; reciprocal residency.

(h)

Trustees shall through regulation establish a program under which undergraduate tuition charged to persons who are resident

of either Colorado or Nebraska
at the time of enrollment
shall be one hundred
seventy-five
percent (1

%) of
the
undergraduate tuition generally charged Wyoming residents.
The program shall provide that the tuition shall maintain at one hundred
seventy-five
percent (1

5%) of resident tuition from initial enrollment through all semesters of undergraduate enrollment so long as the student remains continuously enrolled as an undergraduate at the
u
niversity. Nothing in this subsection shall be construed as restricting the trustees from modifying resident tuition rates at any time
or affecting the authority of the trustees to enter into agreements with other states, institutions, universities or colleges regarding courses of instruction or tuition charged therefore
.

Section 2.

This act shall apply to students initially enrolling at the
U
niversity of Wyoming for classes beginning on or after the effective date of this act.

Section 3.

This act is effective immediately upon completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming Constitution.
