JOINT RESOLUTION

for

A JOINT RESOLUTION proposing to amend the constitution related to education; providing for a state tax for the construction and maintenance of public school facilities in the state.

BE
IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING,
two-thirds of all the members of the two houses, voting separately, concurring therein:

Section 1.
The following proposal to amend
Wyoming Constitution, Article 15
,
Section

15
is proposed for submission to the electors of the State of Wyoming at the next general election for approval or rejection to become
valid as a part of the Constitution if ratified by a majority of the electors at the election:

Article 15, Section 15.

State tax for support of public schools.

(a)

For the support of the public schools in the state there may be levied each year a state tax not exceeding twelve mills on the dollar of the assessed valuation of the property in the state.

(b)

For the construction
and maintenance
of public school facilities in the state there may be levied each year a state tax not exceeding six (6) mills on the dollar of the assessed valuation of the property in the state.

Section 2.
That the Secretary of State shall endorse the following statement on the proposed amendment:

The adoption of this amendment
would authorize a tax
of up to six (6) mills on property in the state
which would be used only for the construction
and maintenance
of public school facilities in Wyoming.
