Summary/Major Elements: This bill responds to new federal law mandates by requiring that benefits in the Child Health Insurance P rogram (CHIP) include managed care to the same extent managed care is provided in the Wyoming Medicaid program. The managed care requirement is applicable only if CHIP is provided through a private insurance company licensed by the Wyoming Insurance C ommissioner to write insurance in Wyoming. ORIGINAL Senate File No . SF0067 ENROLLED ACT NO. 29, SENATE SIXTY-FOURTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING 2017 General Session AN ACT relating to the child health insurance program; amending program benefits to include authorization for managed care as specified; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1 . W.S. 35 ‑ 25 ‑ 104 is amended to read: 35 ‑ 25 ‑ 104 . Private insurance program benefits. (a) A child eligible for services under this act shall receive benefits developed by the health benefits committee established under W.S. 35 ‑ 25 ‑ 105 that include : (i) C ost sharing factors, not to exceed the maximum allowable under Public Law 105 ‑ 33 ; , (ii) E xclusions and limitations ; . The benefit package shall include, at a minimum, (iii) I npatient and outpatient hospital services ; , (iv) P hysician services ; , (v) L aboratory and x ‑ ray services ; , (vi) W ell ‑ baby and well ‑ child care includin g age appropriate immunizations ; and the additional services of (vii) P rescription drug coverage ; , (viii) V ision coverage ; and (ix) D ental coverage which will includ e including preventive and basic services ; developed by the health benefits committee . and (x) Provision of all services through managed care pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 1397cc( f)(3). This paragraph shall be effective only if the child insurance program under this act is provided through a private insurance company licensed by the insurance commissioner to write insurance in Wyoming. Section 2 . This act is effective March 31, 2018.
