Summary/Major Elements: E xisting statutes authorize the Department of R evenue to disclose information received from tobacco manufacturers so the Attorney G eneral may enforce and determine compliance with the tobacco settlement fund statutes. This act clarifies that the D epartmen t of R evenu e may share information so the Attorney G eneral can implement the settlement agreement and resolve any disputes arising under the agreement. The act also clarifies that information may be shared with a data clearinghouse or similar entity , established by a settlement agreement , for the purpose s of enforcing the act, implementing the settlement agreement or settling a dispute under the agreement . ORIGINAL Senate File No . SF0097 ENROLLED ACT NO. 47, SENATE SIXTY-FOURTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING 2017 General Session AN ACT relating to the Wyoming tobacco settlement fund; clarifying the authorized purposes for disclosure of information to the attorney general; authorizing disclosure of information to enable compliance with a settlement agreement; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1 . W.S. 9 ‑ 4 ‑ 1207( b) is amended to read: 9 ‑ 4 ‑ 1207 . Reporting of information; escrow installments. (b) The department is authorized to disclose to the attorney general any information received under this act and requested by the attorney general for purposes of determining compliance with and enforcing the provisions of this act , implementing the master settlement agreement as defined in W.S. 9 ‑ 4 ‑ 1201( a)(v) or resolving any dispute arising under the master settlement agreement . The director of the department and the attorney general shall share the information received under this act and may share the information with other federal, state or local agencie s or with a data clearinghouse or any similar entity or process established under the master settlement agreement or a settlement of any dispute arising under that agreement, only for the purposes of enforcement of this act, W.S. 9 ‑ 4 ‑ 1202 , or enforcement of corresponding laws of other states or implement ation of the master settlement agreement or a settlement of any dispute arising under that agreement . Section 2 . This act is effective July 1, 201 7 .
